She is of Swedish/Norwegian ancestry known for her intensely felt sculptures of the interior human landscape. For 25 years she has worked in clay and wax and cast unique bronze sculptures both figurative and symbolic or metaphoric. Since 2011 she widened her focus on multimedia sculptures mentioned above, to embody a focus on refugees, and home, in a time of many displaced or unhoused people, boat forms in bronze, and universal places of healing.
Currently Kristin is teaching Sculpture and Digital Art at Mission College in Santa Clara. Many of you have shown an interest in the art of printmaking. This is an opportunity for you to meet Kristin if you haven’t already, and get an inside look at her technique and
method of printmaking that has propelled her to her enviable status in this medium.
