FREE Art Demo featuring Meghana Mitragotri

Greet an award-winning watercolor artist based in Livermore. Meghana Mitragotri’s work draws inspiration from natural beauty of the countryside, flowers, and birds, expressed through a blend of realistic and impressionistic styles.

She grew up in Kalpakkam, a township in southern India, into a family of scientists. In that diverse community she nurtured her creative interest in art, language, classical music, and dance. Early on Meghana explored various art mediums, but watercolor captivated her due to its versatility. It felt  therapeutic to her. The medium aligns with her vision of capturing that natural beauty.

Over 30 years, Meghana developed a very distinctive technique. Encouraged by family and friends she has turned a hobby into an artistic career. Her art is characterized by a harmonious blend of bold and subtle colors incorporating shades of green into every piece. She chairs both online and in-person art shows, served as President of the Pleasanton Art League and is currently the creator and organizer of Flora in Focus, a flower-themed art show.

She is founder of DaintlyMade, a company representing her artistic vision through a collection of unique creations. Meghana also has a passion for crafting, receiving awards including First Place Sweepstakes earning the highest number of points in the Handmade Crafts category at the Alameda County Fair. Her work has been juried and recognized through regional, national, and international exhibitions and competitions. This includes the California Watercolor Association’s national and international shows, as well as honors from the California State Fair, Alameda County Fair, California State Parks, Northern California Decorative Artists (NCDA), Tri-Valley Conservancy, gallery exhibitions, and plein air competitions. She continues to exhibit her work through juried exhibitions, and art & craft shows throughout the Bay Area, including well-regarded events organized by Pacific Fine Arts Festivals.
